Match Report AA8 v Easts 22/07/12
/A windy Saturday morning at Queens Park saw Easts starting the game with only 9 players.
We welcomed back Bruiser to the team, after a 6 week holiday. He’s had more holidays than Judith Charmers commented one onlooker. After 2 minutes, Bruiser launched a typical bone crunching tackle that left the centre forward on the deck. He’d get kicked out of Strangeways commented another onlooker.
The highlight of the half was a Sean shot from the edge of the box which hit the inside of the post and then rolled along the goal line. It rebounded to Danny who smashed the ball against the underside of the bar. Had it gone in? No one was sure. The management team looked as confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar. When are Randwick council going to introduce goaline technology commented another onlooker!
Half time 0-0.
We started the second half well, playing our best football of the game and took the lead after 20 minutes.
Reformed bad boy Ricky Doncaster threw the ball in which was flicked on by Danny at the near post. The ball fell to Anto who smashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the goal, leaving a gaping hole in the net. Pete, John Murray, Gav and big Al worked their socks off to get us over the line.
Jonesey can on as a late substitute to help out, but the star of the show was Marcel who made a superb last minute save which ensured we left the park with all 3 points.
